I’ll start by telling you a little about where I come from. I was born in Mexico City on July 2, 1987, and like any little girl, I was full of dreams. Among them, I wanted to become a Hollywood actress—and also a police officer, a teacher, and a doctor. That desire to act, to become other people, live different experiences, and step into other “worlds” eventually found its way onto the written page.
I love imagining, learning, and exploring. I’ve written horror, comedy, drama, suspense, fantasy, and steampunk, some books in English and others in Spanish. Nothing makes me happier than losing myself in a universe that doesn’t exist yet and bringing to life characters who, until then, have lived only in my head.
I’ve never been very good at staying still. Even while working for more than ten years at an extreme adventure park—an experience I have always been incredibly proud of—I was constantly moving, learning, and growing. I started working at the front desk when I was eighteen and left at twenty-nine as the park manager. And what an experience that was! My first trilogy is dedicated to the park’s director, who was a great source of inspiration to me and someone I will always be grateful to.
In 2015, I independently published my first novel, The Black Dragon, followed by the other two books in the series, Uncovering Secrets and Behind The Rainbow. Writing that trilogy came easily to me because Janny had already been living in my head since I was seven years old. Some children have imaginary friends; others have protagonists with entire families. I wrote all three books at night, and that was when my passion for storytelling truly began to grow.
My interests are all over the place. I’m fascinated by coaching—thank you for that, Tony Robbins!—especially because it helped me change my own story. I love animals, nature, acting, and fiction in just about every form.
I don’t really believe that living is all that different from writing a book. The blank page is already there. We get to decide what we fill it with.
